The Advanced Manufacturing Lab (AML) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs specializes in the study of polymer dynamics in fluoropolymers and interface formation in polymer composites, particularly for energy applications such as batteries and solid rocket propellants. Our research focuses on understanding how manufacturing processes influence polymer chain dynamics and subsequently affect the bulk properties of these systems. We employ a diverse array of techniques including rheology, spectroscopy, static and dynamic mechanical testing, and thermal analysis (DSC/TGA) to assess these material responses. By integrating experimental observations with theoretical frameworks, such as tube models, we aim to enhance the performance and reliability of advanced polymer materials.
